Walkham Valley Scout Group
Walkham Valley Scout Group is based behind St Paul’s Church Hall in Yelverton. We have a lovely field, camp fire area and hut where we can enjoy a large range of activities.
We are pleased to be able to offer places for Squirrel Scouts (for young people aged 4-6) and Beaver Scouts (for young people aged 6-8). Both Sections have an exciting and varied programme, with the potential to earn badges and work towards higher awards.
We like being outdoors as much as possible, making the most of our location on the edge of Dartmoor as well as enjoying the wonderful field where we are based. Throughout the year we get involved with larger events across the District, such as the West Devon Beavers Aquarium sleepover where they get the chance to sleep with sharks.
We are hoping to reopen our Cub Pack (for young people aged 8-10) in early 2025. Plus a Scout Troop (for young people aged 10-14) in due course.
In order to do this, we are seeking volunteers. Please get in touch if you are interested in joining our Scout Group to provide experiences for young people in our community. No prior experience is needed. There are a range of roles available whether you would like to provide activities to the young people or help run the Group behind the scenes. Please get in touch!
